Lifelong Learning Programs

Golden Slipper on the Main Line offers four and eight week lifelong learning series.

All courses are held at Adath Israel, 250 N. Highland Avenue, Merion Station, PA  19066

The Passport (4 Week Series)

Our Passport series run for 4 weeks, offering two morning classes a day Monday through Thursday in September, January, and May. In the summer, we present 4 entertainment programs with a buffet lunch and four lectures with light refreshments.

Our Semester series runs for 8 weeks, also with scheduled morning classes Monday through Thursday, beginning in the late fall (October) and early spring (March). Each series offers diverse courses and instructors.

Our free Slipper Book Club meets once a month on Thursdays at Adath Israel.

Our local trips (including lunch at a popular local eatery), feature diverse venues such as museums, concerts, special exhibitions and shows. We have visited the Barnes Museum, Winterthur, the Brandywine Museum, The Garden of Sculpture, Mural Arts Trolley Tour, the Franklin Institute and attended Philadelphia Orchestra concerts. Our New York excursions have been to the 911 Memorial, the Museum of the Moving Image and two Broadway shows.

Additional Information

No Membership Fee

There is no membership fee to participate in Golden Slipper on the Main Line programs—just an annual registration fee of $18. This fee is waived for the first year for those individuals who are new to our programs and members of Adath Israel.

Diverse Courses from Which to Choose!

You can choose individual courses that spark your interest, or you can purchase the entire package (all courses in the series) at a 20% savings. Courses are offered on a 4 or 8 weeks basis and not by the individual class hour.
